During the FEANTSA Conference week, on October 5, Maria J. Aldanas, as coordinator of Housing Rights Watch, co-organised and moderated a webinar about prevention of evictions which tried to take up some of the main challenges and solutions that Housing Rights Watch had detected at European level.
The aim of the webinar was to present accessible legal knowledge and tools which can be reused by service providers, in each country in Europe, to prevent evictions and support tenancy sustainment.
The speakers were Steffen Schafer from the city of Karlsruhe in Germany, and Bernard Rorke from the European Roma Rights Centre in Hungary.
The first panelist spoke about how services may support people who have been evicted to help them exit homelessness. Our second panelist addressed the legal work of ERRC on litigation and advocacy about prevention, legalization of dwellings and settlements and demands for moratoriums on evictions in several countries was raised.
