A meeting of experts on strategic litigation and advocacy in the field of housing right was organized by Housing Rights Watch in May 2018. The event took place in Madrid at the Caritas Spain headquarters with the participation of Javier Rubio, barrister at Centro de Asesoria y Estudios Sociales, CAES who explained the M.B.D. v. Spain case before the ECSR Committee, Gema Fernandez, Managing Attorney at Women’s link about the effectiveness of the UN Committees decisions in Spain (in particular CEDAW). Finally, Paloma Garcia, member of the advocacy team of Red Acoge on the work done in Paliament by the platform of members of Civil Society to effectively implement the recommendations of the ECSR Commitee. A total of seven legal practitioners involved in strategic litigation and advocacy at European level took part in the meeting.
